Silas Jakakimba will contest the Homa Bay senatorial seat through the United Democratic Party ticket.
The former personal assistant of Raila Odinga announced Saturday that he will be seeking to be elected through the party that is affiliated to CORD.
Jakakimba ditched the Orange Democratic Movement party after it handed over direct nomination to Moses Kajwang the young brother of the late senator Otieno Kajwang.

Homa Bay by election will be held on February 12th next year.
Jakakimba said he had stood firm for change and even risked his life but was disappointed that the party he had worked for tirelessly could turn against him and even runaway form allowing the people of Homa Bay exercise their democratic right by electing a candidate of their choice
And while presenting nomination certificate to Jakakimba UDM director of Elections, Ngetich Fundi said the move has been highly welcomed.
The Homa Bay Senatorial seat fell vacant following the death of Otieno Kajwang’ on November 18, 2014. The by election will be held on 12 February 2015.Brend Kiprono (KBC)
